Land & Sea Cup / Past Vs Present 15-16 Oct 22

This week saw the return of these two great events in the Army Badminton Calendar; where it was noted the last time this event took place was in 2018 at ATR Grantham; a whopping 5 years ago; where has the time gone.

All teams brought their A game which saw some very competitive rungs within the ladder tournament; even though the Royal Navy contingent were light on the ground a command decision was made to play a reduced style L&S Cup; with 2 games of singles and 1 game of doubles;

A valiant effort by Team Navy: but Team Army retains the Cup and bragging rights for yet another year.

The Past Vs Present deciding game was played with anticipation and finesse following a hosted social the previous night. But the scores speak for themselves with another impressive win for Team Army; who took 1st & 2nd place just pipping the past team player by 1 point.

What a great weekend of friendly competitive badminton; with great people and in a great venue. Moving forward, this event will be programmed to take place in May; so be sure to put it in your diaries. With the pandemic no longer a cause for not getting on court, be sure to return with force for the re-match
