The Army Badminton Team conducted a Badminton tour of California from 15 – 29 April 23. The tour consisted of 3 phases which seen the 15 Army players spend time in Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Diego.
16 athletes from across the Army were selected to take up this excellent opportunity. The tour was exceptionally busy, with lots of badminton played with matches in all 3 locations. There were some excellent individual and team performances with the Army team winning 3 out of the 4 matches on the tour, only losing out to a very strong Google team. Alongside the badminton there was a plenty of opportunity to take in the sites. This included watching the LA Dodgers baseball game, visiting Alcatraz, the MSS Midway Museum, followed by the Top Gun bar for a spot of lunch and the Lakeside Rodeo.
A fantastic tour and thoroughly enjoyed by all in attendance.
